20. New carbon neutral / degradable products launched

Able can now offer healthcare and food manufacturing clients aprons and rubbish bags that are both carbon neutral and degradable. These items have a shelf life of about one year and then will take about two years to totally degrade. They are still made from plastic and hence retain the same strength characteristics as our standard carbon neutral products. They are also very economically priced. We are continuing to develop new biodegradable products.

Able have today signed off an 800 tonne accredited offset with International Energy Brokers TFSgreen.

18. Able on City of Stonnington Sustainability Panel

Last night, the City of Stonnington held their regular "Roosters and Feather Dusters" evening.

There is a level of mystique about the title of this forum which is held 5 times a year at the Malvern  Town Hall. My own conclusion on the title's message is that you'd rather be a proactive and savvy rooster than a plucked feather duster.

Be that as it may, last night's complimentary session was on sustainability and greening your business.

We were fortunate enough to join Don Pyke - Founder of Ecolimos   and   Tamsin O'Neill - Co-founder and editor of green magazine,  on the panel. The evening was hosted by broadcaster Sian Prior who did a great job in facilitating the discussion between the panel and the audience members.

Congratulations to the organizers at the City of Stonnington for running an evening that will raise awareness about green issues and opportunities for business. They are also running A sustainable Living Expo Sunday 3 May.

17. Grow Me the Money

Able is now participating in the "Grow Me the Money" initiative, which is run by VECCI and the EPA and receives financial support from the Victorian State Government.

The program aims to promote environmental sustainability by assisting firms to plan and implement measures that will reduce their environmntal impact and in many cases increase their differentiation in the market.
